Domaine de Chaumont sur Loire

The Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire is a surprising place combining contemporary art, lush, colourful gardens and prestigious stables. Located on the banks of the Loire river, it’s a panoramic viewpoint that offers a breathtaking view over The Royal River and the Loire. This site, of more than 32 hectares, is known for its various flowery spaces, mixing art and nature. Each year, more than 400,000 visitors come for a walk in this beautiful place to discover unusual and original plant compositions as well as artwork installations and contemporary art exhibitions of the castle.

Today, the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire is the property of Centre Val de Loire region and it has become an essential place in the field of art and garden. Since 1992, this place has brought together garden professionals and garden lovers around the International Garden Festival which takes place from August to October.This meeting allows landscape gardeners from all over the world to create true plant works. The theme of this 2021 edition is « Biomimicry in the garden. Nature, an infinite source of inspiration ». In total, more than 30 new gardens have been created for this event.

Dahlia has been showcased for several years in the summer flowerbeds of the park, but more particularly this year, with a space of 300 m² dedicated to Ernest TURC dahlias. Cactus, decorative, dwarf, double, simple, pompom dahlias,…Hundreds of varieties have been planted to create a true firework display of shapes and colours. Dahlias are also showcased in the various flowerbeds of the castle.
