Ernest Turc is a family owned and run bulb business, started in 1912, situated near Angers, France. We have two main bulb growing sites, one in Angers for the summer flowering bulbs – dahlias, cannas, alstroemers – and one in Brittany where the mild winters allow us to bring spring bulbs, notably hyacinths and anemones,  to market about three weeks earlier than most of our competitors. The business is currently run by Ernest's grandsons, Bertrand and Philippe.
 
 Our customers are major supermarket, garden centre and DIY chains in France, either under our own brand or theirs. Most of our packaging is done on site near Angers, but can be arranged elsewhere, depending on our customers'  final market place. We also supply bulbs loose to professional horticulturists and landscape designers in France and to wholesalers and nurseries throughout Europe. Our export activity is developing to meet customer demand for new and improved varieties.
 
In 2004, we diversified our range with the acquisition of La Ferme de Sainte Marthe, one of France's oldest established suppliers of organic and heritage seed. We now offer a complete range of vegetable and flower seeds to suit every market ; our brands include Ferme de Sainte Marthe, Seme La Vie, Jardiver and Graines en Folie and are distributed through supermarkets, garden centres and DIY shops. The organic and heritage seeds are mainly sold through our web site and by correspondence in France.
